What is NappAI
NappAI is a platform for building automations with artificial intelligence without writing code. You build each automation as a flow: a series of steps that receive information, process it with AI models and with the services you already use (email, spreadsheets, CRM, messaging…) and return a result.
With NappAI you can, for example, have an assistant that answers your customers by chat, sort incoming emails, produce a report every Monday or answer phone calls with a voice agent.
The main pieces
Projects and flows
Each automation is a project, and what a project contains is its flow. In this documentation both words mean the same thing. Projects are organised in folders on the Projects screen. You can start from scratch or from a template.
Components
A flow is built from components. Each component does one thing: receive a chat message, ask an AI model, read a spreadsheet, send an email… Components are joined with connections: what comes out of one goes into the next.
See Add components. Each component also has its own page in the Components section of this documentation’s menu.
The editor
The editor is where you build the flow: you add components to the canvas, connect them and fill in their settings. Changes are saved automatically as you work.
See The flow editor.
The playground
The Playground lets you test the flow from the editor itself: you type a message, the flow runs and you see the answer and what each component did. It always tests what is on the canvas, even if you haven’t published it.
See Test the flow in the playground.
Publishing
While you work you change the flow’s draft. When it is ready, you save a version and deploy it: that is the one used by calls from other applications, webhooks, scheduled runs and phone calls. This way you can keep changing the draft without affecting anyone already using the flow.
Executions
Every time a flow runs, NappAI records what each component did: what it received, what it returned and how long it took. You find it in Executions Logs, and it helps you check that everything works and find the cause of a failure.
See Execution logs.
Credentials
For a flow to use an external service, such as an AI model provider or your Gmail account, you save its access once as a credential and choose it in the components that need it.
See Credentials.
Team
You can invite other people to work in your account and decide with a role what each of them can do. You can also share a single flow with someone.
See Share your account, Roles and permissions and Share a flow.

Where to go next
- Follow the tutorial Your first flow: in a few steps you will have a chat assistant working and published.
- Read the key concepts to understand how the pieces fit together.
- Look at the Home screen and the rest of the Using NappAI section whenever you need a specific screen.
The guided path orders all these pages by what you want to achieve.
