Page Content Viewer
Page Content Viewer reads a Notion page and returns its content as plain text, ready for an agent to use or for you to send by email.
When to use it
- An agent has to answer questions based on a procedure stored in Notion.
- You want to summarize or translate the content of a page.
- You need to send the content of a Notion page through another channel.
Configuration
You need a Notion API credential with your Notion integration’s token. See Credentials.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Credential (required) | The Notion API credential used to access your Notion workspace. |
| Page ID | The ID of the page you want to read. |
Output
The Data output returns the page’s text. Headings, paragraphs, quotes, lists, to-do checkboxes and code blocks are read; images appear as their link and dividers as ---. Other block types, such as tables, do not appear in the text.
The first 100 blocks of the page are read. If Notion rejects the request, the output carries a message starting with Error: that explains why.
Example
An HR department keeps its holiday policy in Notion and wants an assistant that answers questions.
- Add Page Content Viewer and enter the ID of the “Holiday policy” page in Page ID.
- Connect the output to an agent’s prompt as context.
- The agent answers employees’ questions with what the page says.
Good practices
- A page’s ID appears at the end of its Notion link.
- Split very long pages into several shorter ones: only the first 100 blocks are read.
Related components
