Parakeet Local
Parakeet Local turns audio or video recordings into text directly on NappAI’s servers. You don’t need any key or external account, and the audio never leaves the platform. It is the same transcription engine the Voice Agent uses to listen.
It detects the language of the recording on its own among 25 European languages, such as Spanish, English, French, German, Italian or Portuguese. It does not recognize Catalan, Galician or Basque.
When to use it
- Transcribe recordings with sensitive information that you don’t want to send to an external service.
- Turn voice notes or meetings into text without depending on a third-party account.
- Process audio in several European languages without having to say which one each is.
- Give an agent the ability to transcribe audio when it needs to.
Configuration
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Audio | The file or files you want to transcribe: audio or video in common formats such as WAV, MP3, OGG, M4A or WEBM. Connect it to the component that brings in the files. |
No credential is needed. This component can also work as a tool for an agent; see Tool Mode. To transcribe a list of files separately, use Batch Mode.
Output
- Transcript: the transcribed text. If you connect several files at once, you get all the transcripts together, separated by a blank line.
Example
Your clinic stores voice notes from appointments and doesn’t want them to leave the platform. You connect each note to Parakeet Local, which returns the text. An agent turns it into a report in the clinic’s format and saves it to your storage.
