Create Page
Create Page adds a new page to a Notion database, filling in its properties: the title, a status, a date, an amount… It is how a flow records in Notion every order, ticket or contact it receives.
When to use it
- Every request from a web form should become a row in a Notion database.
- An agent classifies emails and you want to log each ticket in the support team’s database.
- You want to add new customers to your Notion CRM automatically.
Configuration
You need a Notion API credential with your Notion integration’s token. See Credentials.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Credential (required) | The Notion API credential used to access your Notion workspace. |
| Database ID | The ID of the database where the page is created. |
| Properties (JSON) | The new page’s properties, written in Notion’s format. |
An example of properties for a database with a Customer title and a Status select:
{"Customer": {"title": [{"text": {"content": "Garcia Workshops"}}]}, "Status": {"select": {"name": "Pending"}}}Output
The Data output returns the created page as Notion stores it, with its ID, its link and its properties. You can use that ID to add content to it or update it later.
Example
A training academy wants to log every information request in Notion.
- The website form reaches the flow with the student’s name and the course they are interested in.
- Add Create Page and enter the ID of the “Requests” database in Database ID.
- In Properties (JSON) prepare the properties with the name as the title and the course as a select.
- Connect the output to Add Content to Page to add the student’s message inside the page.
Good practices
- Before writing the properties, check with List Database Properties what they are called and their type: each property’s format depends on its type.
- Property names must match the database’s exactly, including capital letters and accents.
- Fill in both Database ID and Properties (JSON): if either is missing, the page is not created.
Related components
- List Database Properties: the database’s structure.
- Add Content to Page: write content inside the page.
- Update Page Property: change a page’s properties.
