Tips and frequently asked questions
How to ask for things
Describe the goal, not the steps. “I want every new order from the store to show up in my Google sheet and to get an alert if it’s over €500” works better than a list of components. Choosing the components and connecting them is the assistant’s job.
Give it the details you already have. If you know the name of the sheet, the table, the channel or the destination email, include it in your message: it will save you some questions.
Say what a good result looks like. “The reply should be 3 sentences at most, address the customer formally and not promise discounts” gives the assistant a clear standard to test and adjust against.
Use the context of the screen. If you have the flow open, just say “this flow”; if you are in a field’s editor, “add here…”. With @ you can point to a specific component.
One conversation per topic. Resume the conversation for a piece of work to carry on with it; start a new one for something different.
Start in Guided mode. You will see the plan and approve each important step. Once you feel comfortable, switch to Automatic for the requests you are clear about.
What is always up to you
The assistant does practically everything, but there are some decisions it doesn’t make for you:
- Choosing the credential when you have several for the same service.
- Signing in for credentials that connect to your account on another service (Google, Microsoft…).
- Approving anything with real effects, in Guided mode: running, publishing, scheduling or changing your account.
- Giving it the information only you know: identifiers, recipients, times, the folder to save things in.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to create a flow before asking it for something? No. You can ask it from any screen. If you ask it for a new flow, it creates it itself, in the folder you tell it or in a new one.
Can it work on flows I don’t have open? Yes. It sees all your flows, folders, environments, credentials, schedules and versions. If you ask it to change a flow and it’s not clear which one, it will ask you.
Can it break something that already works? When it changes a flow, it touches only what’s necessary and tests it again. Changes on the canvas can be undone by asking it. And the version published to production doesn’t change until you publish a new one.
Does it send real emails or messages when it tests a flow? Before the first test it explains what it is going to do and, in Guided mode, asks for your permission. Actions that send things outside are simulated until the flow is ready to be used for real.
Can it see my passwords and keys? It sees which credentials you have and which service they are for, but not their keys. From your environments it shows you the variable names; their values only if you ask.
Does it remember what we talked about yesterday? It remembers everything within a conversation: resume it from Sessions and carry on where you left off. A new conversation starts from scratch.
Can I keep using the dashboard while it works? Yes. You can move around the dashboard or close the panel; the assistant keeps working. If you want to stop it, click Stop generating.
Why does it tell me to wait? Each conversation handles one request at a time. Wait for it to finish or open another conversation to work in parallel.
What language does it reply in? In the language you write to it in.
How do I get it? The AI Assistant is a service you subscribe to separately. Get in touch with us at nappai.ai and we’ll explain how to enable it for your company. Once it’s active, you can follow your usage in the AI Assistant usage card on the home page.
Can I ask it to change what it has done? Of course. Tell it in your own words (“make it shorter”, “also send a Telegram alert”) and it adjusts it and tests it again. You can iterate as much as you like.
How do I give my feedback? Rate any reply with thumbs up or thumbs down and, if you like, add a comment. It helps make the assistant better and better.
