MySql Checkpointer

MySql Checkpointer stores the state of an agent’s conversation (the messages and the steps it has taken) in a MySQL database owned by your company. A checkpointer is what lets an agent pick up a conversation where it left off instead of starting from scratch with every message. Because the state stays in your database, it is kept between runs and even if NappAI restarts.

When to use it

  • Your data policy requires agents’ conversations to be stored in your own database.
  • Your company already uses MySQL and wants the conversation state kept there.

Configuration

Before you start you need a MySQL database that NappAI can reach and its connection address.

FieldWhat it does
Database URLThe connection address of your database, with the server, the port, the user, the password and the database name, for example mysql://user:password@host:3306/database. You can type it or connect it from another component.

When you type the address, NappAI connects to the database and prepares the tables it needs. If it cannot connect, it shows an error in the field.

Output

Checkpointer is the place where the conversation state is kept, in your database. It sits at the top of the component.

Good practices

  • Use a database user allowed to create tables: NappAI prepares them the first time.
  • Keep the connection address in an environment variable instead of typing it in the panel.
