Add Content to Page

Add Content to Page writes new content at the end of a Notion page. You give it the text in Markdown format and the component turns it into Notion blocks: headings, paragraphs, lists, to-do checkboxes, quotes, dividers, images and links.

It is useful for having a flow record in Notion what it did or produced, for example a meeting summary or the weekly report.

When to use it

  • An agent writes up the minutes of a meeting and you want to keep them on the project’s page.
  • A flow generates a report every week and you want to add it to a tracking page.
  • You want to leave a to-do list on a page based on an email or a form.

Configuration

You need a Notion API credential with your Notion integration’s token. See Credentials.

FieldWhat it does
Credential (required)The Notion API credential used to access your Notion workspace.
Markdown TextThe text to add, written in Markdown. For example, # Title for a heading, - item for a list or - [ ] task for a to-do checkbox.
Page/Block IDThe ID of the page (or block) the content is appended to.

Output

The Data output returns Notion’s response with the blocks that were added to the page. If Notion rejects the request, the flow does not stop: the output carries a message starting with Error: that explains why.

Example

A project team wants the minutes of every meeting stored on the customer’s page.

  1. An agent summarizes the meeting transcript in Markdown, with a heading, the agreements as a list and the tasks as checkboxes.
  2. Add Add Content to Page and connect the summary to Markdown Text.
  3. In Page/Block ID enter the ID of the customer’s page in Notion.

Good practices

  • A page’s ID appears at the end of its Notion link.
  • Content is always appended at the end; the component does not delete or replace what is already on the page.
  • Check the output before treating the step as done: if it starts with Error:, nothing was written.
