One Drive Writer

This component lets you easily save files to your Microsoft OneDrive cloud storage. You can upload files from your computer or create new files directly within OneDrive using Nappai.

Relationship with Microsoft OneDrive

This component connects directly to your Microsoft OneDrive account to upload and save files. You’ll need to provide Nappai with your OneDrive credentials to use this component.

Inputs

  • Upload file or select file: Choose a file from your computer to upload to OneDrive. Supported file types include text documents and images.
  • File Name: Enter the name you want to give the file when it’s saved to OneDrive. This is required.
  • Select folder to save files: Choose the folder in your OneDrive where you want to save the file. Supported file types include text documents and images.
  • File content: Instead of uploading a file, you can directly enter the text content of the file here. This is useful for creating files directly within Nappai.
  • Credential: This is where you select the OneDrive account you want to use. Nappai will securely store your credentials.

Outputs

  • Path to File: After successfully uploading or creating a file, this output shows the complete online location of your file in OneDrive. You can use this path in other Nappai components if needed.

Usage Example

Let’s say you want to save a report generated by another Nappai component to your OneDrive. You would:

  1. Connect the output of the report-generating component to the “File content” input of the One Drive Writer.
  2. Enter the desired file name (e.g., “MyReport.txt”).
  3. Select the folder in your OneDrive where you want to save the report.
  4. Select your OneDrive credential.
  5. Run the workflow. The “Path to File” output will then show you where the report is saved in OneDrive.

  • For large files, uploading might take some time.
  • Consider using the “File content” input for smaller files or data generated within Nappai to avoid unnecessary file handling.

Security Considerations

Nappai securely stores your OneDrive credentials. Ensure you are using a strong password for your OneDrive account. Never share your OneDrive credentials with anyone.
